What my caregiver means to me:

Everything. I can’t imagine going through life, let alone life with a terminal diagnosis, without Dan. His love, support and commitment has been unwavering since my Stage IV breast cancer diagnosis in 2018. He shows up everyday with his caregiver hat on. He brings humor, affection, honesty and compassion to his role as husband and caregiver.

What Jack’s Caregiver Coalition means to me:

Based on a referral from my oncologist, Dan got involved in Jack’s shortly after my diagnosis. I was so relieved to know that Dan would have the opportunity to make connections with a community of people facing similar life challenges. It is hard being sick, being the “care-getter,” but I imagine it can be even harder to be a caregiver - the one whose needs always comes second.

Jack’s provides Dan with a safe place to share his emotions, fears and challenges. Jack’s provides me with the comfort that my caregiver has access to a supportive community of other caregivers and a place where his needs come first.

Cassie's gratitude story was told in support of our MN Springs 4 Caregivers campaign. With your help we'll meet our goal and make 14 more stories of gratitude like Cassie's possible. Donations are being matched up to $5,000 thanks to a generous challenge grant from an anonymous donor.
