We stand on the shoulders of the great organizations that came before us. Our list of partners isn't a laundry list of stuff that's out there. These are the organizations we have experience with. Organizations that have proven to us they're serving caregivers well. Heck, when we send you to one of these partners it doesn't even feel like we're sending you somewhere else.
5 million children are coping with a parent's cancer diagnosis. That’s 5 million children at risk of experiencing increased anxiety, emotional isolation, loss of social interest, or feelings of hopelessness. And that’s why, at Kesem, they are committed to creating a world where every child who has a parent with a cancer diagnosis or has lost a parent to cancer is never alone. They support these children through and beyond their parent’s cancer with free, fun-filled creative programs and a lasting community.
At Cancer Legal Care, they know that the financial and legal issues a cancer patient faces can be as devastating as the cancer diagnosis itself. Their mission is to engage the law to resolve the complex challenges facing people and communities affected by cancer. They do this by providing free legal care and education to Minnesotans affected by cancer to help with the legal issues they face that directly impact their health and quality of life.
Although the survival rate for colon cancer is 90% when it’s caught in the early stages, only 40% of cases are being diagnosed during this window. The Colon Cancer Coalition is dedicated to encouraging screening, reducing barriers to access, and raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of colorectal cancer. By making the words colon, colorectal and colonoscopy a part of everyday language, we can overcome the fear and decrease deaths from this largely preventable cancer.
No one should face cancer alone. These simple words sum up Gilda’s Club Twin Cities’ philosophy. They provide the emotional and social support that is proven to improve overall health outcomes. Their clubhouse is a healing environment where individuals learn from one another while receiving guidance from licensed mental health professionals.
The mission of The Negative Space is to change the way caregivers are seen and supported. The Negative Space shines light on the realities of caregiving, provides direct services to caregivers, and educates and equips those who support them with concrete tools and strategies.
The Masonic Cancer Center creates a collaborative research environment focused on the causes, prevention, detection, and treatment of cancer; applying that knowledge to improve quality of life for patients and survivors; and sharing its discoveries with other scientists, students, professionals, and the community. Founded in 1991, the cancer center became a National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in 1998, one of only 57 institutions in the United States and two in Minnesota to hold that designation.
While most people know us for our research, we do so much more. We work to end cancer as we know it, for everyone. We advocate for lifesaving policy changes. We promote healthy lifestyles to help you prevent cancer. We research cancer and its causes to find more answers and better treatments. We provide information, answers, and support to people in every community who have been touched by cancer. And we do it all 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
